The Low family seem to have been in the Craig area for many generations but as far back as I can be sure of is David Low and Ann Lamb who married in Craig on the 26th of October 1764.
John Low and Elizabeth (Betty) MacDonald married on the 6th of February 1797 in Craig. At the time of marriage, John was a soldier in Captain Hamilton Maxwell's Company of West Lowland Fencibles. The couple were in the north east of England when their first child was born and baptized.
Jessie Low, who is listed as a net maker in the 1881 census, married Alexander Kerr on the 7th of December 1838 in Craig.
